9-Year-Old JP Boy Honored At Gillette Stadium

One JP boy won a VIP Revs Experience as part of Santander Bank's sweepstakes in recognition of academic achievements.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA — A 9-year-old Jamaica Plain resident got a special treat at Gillette Stadium for his own academic and athletic achievements as the New England Revolution took on Atlanta United FC last month.

The Revolution is working with Santander bank on a Soccer Scholars program, which recognizes the outstanding academic and athletic achievements of New England students. Simon Hay made the cut this season and got VIP passes and walk out on the field before the game.

"Simon is a very engaged and curious student," wrote his mom Sarah Hay about her home schooled fourth grader.

Simon and mom got to cheer on the Revolution as they entered the field from the sidelines.

Thirty-five winners received a VIP match day experience, including four tickets to a designated New England Revolution home match, an on-field photo opportunity with a Revs player, and sideline access to cheer on the team as they take the field. One grand prize winner received a hometown visit from Revolution star players, as well as $500 toward his education, in addition to the VIP match day experience.
