JAMAICA PLAIN, MA ― A local "business leader" who requested anonymity donated 200 bright yellow bike vests with the words "Boston Bikes" on the back to be handed out to cyclists in JP.So, Thursday, officers from Jamaica Plain handed out the 200 free bright-yellow bike vests to bikers traveling along the bike path in the area of Centre and Lamartine streets.Police said it fit with their effort to keep people in the neighborhood safe. "Our job as police officers is to keep people safe. And, there's no question visibility plays an important role in achieving that goal.
