Anonymous Business Person Donates 200 Yellow Bike Vests To JP
An anonymous donor gave 200 yellow bike vests to police to donate to underscore the importance of being visible when riding around the city.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA ― A local "business leader" who requested anonymity donated 200 bright yellow bike vests with the words "Boston Bikes" on the back to be handed out to cyclists in JP.
So, Thursday, officers from Jamaica Plain handed out the 200 free bright-yellow bike vests to bikers traveling along the bike path in the area of Centre and Lamartine streets.
Police said it fit with their effort to keep people in the neighborhood safe.

“Our job as police officers is to keep people safe. And, there’s no question visibility plays an important role in achieving that goal. So, the decision to hand out the free bike vests to those who ride bikes in our city was an easy decision to make,” said Officer Mike Santry.
