Asmani Rose Huda: "Disability" is a "Fake Word"
Every week, "Whiz Kids" profiles young people, classes or teams from Jamaica Plain.

- Name: Asmani Rose Huda
- Age: 9
- School: Mission Hill K-8
- Accomplishment: Asmani was born Nov. 20, 2001, with one regular hand and arm, and her right arm comes to just below her elbow. Nonetheless, she is totally unstoppable. Aside from being sunny, and funny, gorgeous and graceful (no bias on part of this writer - her mom), she has always done lots of things that folks might think a kid with a "little hand" wouldn't be able to do. For instance: crawling, extreme wrestling with her little brother, bike riding, jewelry-making, etc. This year she has started violin lessons. She also was chosen to participate in Boston Ballet's Citydance program, which she is thrilled about. Asmani is also very compassionate toward other children and grown-ups who have physical or mental differences. She believes that "disability" is a "fake word" and that anybody can do anything with support.
- Key to Awesomeness: She is very determined, smart and creative at figuring out "her way" of tackling something, and she is also really cute so people like to help her out if she gets stuck.
