BCYF, Adaptive Sports to Hold Wheelchair Sports Week in Jamaica Plain
The program will run from Aug. 12-15 in Franklin Park.
Boston Centers for Youth and Families, along with Adaptive Sports New England, plans to hold a new “Wheelchair Sports Week” next month in Jamaica Plain, officials announced Friday.
The program, which will include wheelchair basketball, track and field events and other activities, is set to run daily, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., from Tuesday, Aug. 12 to Friday, Aug. 15 at the BCYF Stadium Sports Center in Franklin Park.
The effort is meant for youths aged 7-14 years, and those interested in participating should be able to push a manual wheelchair and take part in group games independently, officials said.
