Blown Tire Sparks MBTA Bus Fire in Boston
The Boston Fire Department and Transit Police officers responded to Federal Street to help battle the flames.

An MBTA bus caught fire in Boston after blowing a tire Wednesday afternoon.
Officials were forced to close off Federal Street while battling the blaze. Those in the area say they heard a loud boom and felt a rumble before the bus erupted into flames.

The Boston Fire Department and members of the Transit Police responded to the fire outside of the Bank of America on 100 Federal Street, officials say.
Lots of smoke could be scene billowing from the bus. The street was blocked off while officials worked to extinguish the fire.

No passengers were onboard the bus when the incident occurred.
Non one was injured battling the fire.
