Boston Firefighter Accused Of Sexual Assault In JP Put On Leave

A 37-year-old Boston Firefighter is accused of indecently assaulting a woman at the JP station.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA —A Boston firefighter is on administrative leave after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the Jamaica Plain Fire station on Centre Street.

“The Boston Fire Department takes these allegations very seriously and they warrant our full attention. As a result, Firefighter Sanchez has been placed on administrative leave while this situation is adjudicated through the court system. We will continue to monitor this situation and take swift and appropriate action if and when it is necessary," said Boston Fire Commissioner Joesph Finn in a statement emailed to Patch.

David Sanchez, 37, was arraigned earlier this month in West Roxbury court on charges of assault and battery, and indecent assault and battery, the District Attorney’s Office told reporters. Prosecutors recommended $2,000 cash bail but Judge Mary Ann Driscoll imposed personal recognizance with orders to stay away from the victim. Sanchez returns to court on June 13.

According to a police report that WCVB got a hold of, the woman told officers she was off-duty when she went to the firehouse to get personal belongings on Jan. 14 when the incident assault reportedly took place.

It's unclear if she was a firefighter, too.
