Boston Officers Worked More Than 13K Overtime Hours During Tsarnaev Trial

Police officers guarded Boston's Moakley Courthouse while the trial was taking place.

Members of the Boston Police Department worked more than 13,000 overtime hours throughout the duration of Dzhokar Tsarnaev’s Boston Marathon bombing trial.

In total, officers were paid nearly $750,000 in overtime money for their time spent guarding Boston’s Moakley Courthouse, according to pay figures released by the department.

The trial began in January and came to a close in June when a federal judge formally sentenced Tsarnaev to death by execution.
