Boston Police Reveal Name of New K-9 Puppy

Welcome to the force, Viggo! The department unveiled the name of its newest fury friend on Friday morning.

After receiving over 20,000 name suggestions from folks across the City, the Boston Police Department announced their new K-9 puppy will be called Viggo.

The department unveiled the name of its newest fury friend on Friday morning.

Viggo, a nine-week-old Belgian Shephard, will be trained for patrol and explosive ordinance detection.

Police Commissioner William Evans announced the news alongside the department’s head K-9 trainer and Junior Police Academy.

Cannon, Clink, Hero, Kevlar, Kojack, Tango, Titus, Rocco, and Tuukka, were the other names the department considered.
