A Picture is Worth a Thousand Feet

The dimensions of the two solutions favor the at grade solution - But is the rendering really accurate?

Why are the Casey Overpass Project renderings of the “Bridge” versus “at Grade” solutions provided by MassDOT so distorted?  Has anyone noticed that the 7 lane “at grade” appears to be the same width as one lane of the Bridge plan? Did MassDOT invoke string theory? new math? multi dimensional analysis?  If there is truth in advertising, shouldn’t there be truth in publicly presented drawings?  We could talk about the perspective, the disappearance of the Forest Hills Station and the appearance of patio furniture, but that pales in comparison to the “ginned up” finagling of the dimensions in the drawings shown to the public. Making the "at grade” 7 lane highway solution appear only as wide as one lane of the much narrower bridge solution?  REALLY - MassDOT?  Aren’t you folks better at drawing than that? Is this a lame (I mean lane) job or what? Or were you worried that folks wouldn’t have supported the “at grade” solution if it had been drawn to the same scale as the bridge?
