Backyard Chickens and Urban Agriculture
Come out to meet your neighbors at the first JP NET potluck of 2012! Hear neighbors stories about their adventures to increase community resilience.

Come out to meet your neighbors at the first JP NET potluck of 2012!
We will hear from a local urban chicken expert – on hand to answer all your questions – as well as several of our friends and neighbors experiences with urban agriculture:
- Jenny Jones – will share her story of starting the Festival Garden in the South West Corridor Park. (Jenny has a full time job doing computer network design, but in her spare time she organises her local block, Paul Gore Neighbors, and over the last year has started the Festival Garden and the JP Resiliency Measures Project.)
- Alvin Kho – will share the experience of the Egleston Community Orchard – fruit trees, raised beds, flowers, art and community
- Andree Zaleska – will share tips from her garden at the JP Green House
There will be time to ask questions and share your own adventures in urban agriculture. Then we will move to small groups on topics such as launching a year-round farmer’s market in Egleston Square, policy changes at state and city level to facilitate our neighborhood work, complete and safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists, backyard chickens and planning future potlucks.

Invite your friends — and forward widely to folks in JP.
Last time some of you brought your kids and asked that the potluck start on the earlier side to facilitate the attendance of more parents – so we are starting at 6 p.m.
Spanish translation can be provided by bi-lingual participants, let us know if you can help.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
