Combat Veterans For Congress PAC Mission Statement

The Combat Veterans For Congress Committee is dedicated to supporting the election of fiscally conservative Combat Veterans to Congress.  We seek Combat Veterans For Congress who believe in limited government, will rein in the out of control spending of Congress, are committed to preserving and defending the US Constitution, and will support the independence and freedom of the individual as outlined in the Bill of Rights.  We support Combat Veterans For Congress who are dedicated to promoting The Free Enterprise System that created the greatest economic engine in the history of mankind, who will provide for a strong national defense, and who will endorse the teaching of US history and the Founding Fathers’ core values in educational institutions.

The Combat Veterans For Congress PAC is endorsing the 74th Combat Veteran For Congress; he is a fiscally conservative candidate who will work to rein in the out of control spending by Congress and the Administration.  1st Lt Matt Temperley, USANG (R-MA-8) http://www.matttemperley.com resides in Quincy, MA, is a 10 year veteran of the US Army and the US Army National Guard, and is running for election in the 8th Congressional District of Massachusetts.  Matt was born on June 1, 1981 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and graduated from St Peter’s School, Buenos Aires, Argentina on December 12, 1998.  Matt then graduated from Tarleton State University in May 13, 2008, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Business; Matt matriculated at the branch of Tarleton State that was located at Fort Hood in Texas, which was subsequently absorbed by Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas.  In June 2008 he received a Graduate Certificate in Advance International Affair from Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University, College Station.  In September 2010 Matt enrolled in Harvard Extension School in Cambridge, Massachusetts studying for a Master of Liberal Arts with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies; he expects to receive his Master’s Degree from Harvard University in August 2013.   

Matt enlisted in the US Army Deferment Program in December 2003 at the Military Entrance Processing Station in Saint Louis, Missouri; he began his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky on March 13, 2004, the first day of his service; he completed basic training in July 2004.   In August 2004, Private Temperley deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 3rd Platoon of Cobra Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry.   His assignment was as a Humvee Gunner in the 16-man platoon.   Private Temperley’s unit was involved in fighting the Mahdi Army, and eventually pushed them out of Sadr’ City, Iraq; he was promoted to Private Second Class (PV2) in October 2004.  PV2 Temperley was promoted Private First Class (PFC) in February 2005, and returned to Fort Hood, Texas with his unit March 2005; he was awarded with the Army Commendation Medal, the Combat Action Badge Tab, and various service and campaign medals for his first Combat tour.  On April 23, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas in the auditorium of the University of the Incarnate World, together with 100 people, PFC Matt Temperley, US Army, after his first combat tour of duty in support of the Republic, PFC Temperley raised his right hand, took the oath, and became a US Citizen.  

In September 2006 PFC Temperley was promoted to Specialist (SPC), was admitted to the Green to Gold Program, which allowed him to end his active duty contract, was Honorably Discharged from Active Duty in the US Army, and affiliated with the Army National Guard.  In June 2007, he went to Leadership and Assessment Course (LDAC) AT Fort Lewis, Washington.  SPC Temperley completed his degree as a National Guard soldier, receiving his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the National Guard on May13, 2008, when he graduated from Tarleton State.  From February to March 2009, 2nd LT Temperley went to Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Benning, Georgia then to Army Officer Basic Course at Fort Knox, KY from March to July2009.  In October 2009, 2nd LT Temperley was activated and assigned to Alpha Troop, 112th Cavalry Regiment, 56th Brigade, 36th Infantry Division, and was ordered to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas for pre-deployment training; he was promoted to First Lieutenant in November 2009.  1st LT Temperley began his second combat tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom when his unit deployed to Basrah, Iraq in December 2009.  He was selected as the Platoon Commander in Alpha Troop, for a 36 man platoon that was assigned to provide security for the protection of High Value VIPs and they also conducted other missions all over Baghdad & Southern Iraq.  In August 2010 his unit returned to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.  For his second combat tour of duty, 1st LT Temperley was awarded the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal and various service and campaign medals. 

After his return from his second combat tour of duty, Matt Temperley moved from Texas to Quincy, Massachusetts in order to employ the GI Bill to matriculate as a full time student at Harvard Extension School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  He continues to receive drill pay while continuing his service in the US Army National Guard and is working part time as a Supervisor with Internal Security Associates, a security company in Boston.  Matt is a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the NRA, the Harvard Extension Student’s Association (HESA), and St Mary’s Catholic Church in Quincy, Massachusetts.  1st Lt Temperley has been endorsed by Capt Harold, A Koussa, USNR (Ret), and the Combat Veterans For Congress PAC.
