Congratulations to the English High boys baseball team for winning the city league championship on Memorial Day with a 5-3 win over Latin Academy at their home field. The Bulldogs, coached by first year coach Modesto Gomez, defeated Boston International 11-4 last Saturday and took on Latin Academy, winner of the LA-East Boston game by a score of 12-3 in the semi-final game. English ends the regular season at 12-6. Latin Academy ends at 11-9. Both teams now await state tournament pairings to be announced this week.
