English High Holds Sports Awards Night

Sports Awards Night at English High

As the school year comes to a close this month, held the end-of-the-year sports awards night on Friday evening, June 1 in the school gymnasium. 

Shortly after 5:30, all students who participated in any sports entered the gym led by a bagpiper and were greeted with a round of applause.  Athletic Director Barry Robinson welcomed all and introduced headmaster Sito Narcisse who spoke a few encouraging words.

After dinner, an invited speaker, Chris Rooks, athletic director for the Boston Scholar Athletes Program addressed the gathering.  Coaches for each sport then called up their teams and presented awards in the category of most valuable player, coach's award, sportsmanship and most improved.  This year, English won two city league championships ( and ).  A good time was had by all attending.
