An overflow crowd filled Our Lady of Lourdes Church for the installation Mass of Fr. Carlos Flor, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and St. Mary of the Angels Parish on Saturday evening, September 22. In addition to parishioners from the 3 parishers, many from Everett, East Boston and Revere attended too. Fr. Flor served at parishes there and made an impression on many Catholics.
As part of the installation ceremony, various groupings of parishioners presented themselves to Fr. Flor. Cardinal O'Malley presided at the Mass and preached. Upon presenting Fr. Flor as their new pastor, the congregation arose in a standing ovatation. The music was spectacular and Fr. Flor greeted well wishers in the parish hall after the Mass.
