City Councilor O'Malley to Honor Team Hoyt

Boston City Councilor Matt O’Malley, on behalf of the entire Boston City Council, will honor father and son marathoners Dick and Rick Hoyt and declare tomorrow, October 22, 2014, as Team Hoyt Day in the City of Boston.
Rick and Dick Hoyt are the inspirational duo who completed more than 1,000 races together with Dick pushing Rick, who has cerebral palsy, in a wheelchair.
Team Hoyt, who are sponsored by John Hancock, have completed 32 Boston Marathons over three decades, including their last race together in April 2014. The Hoyts have participated in more than 1,000 races and formed the Hoyt Foundation to inspire disabled young people.

Councilor O’Malley, who has completed seven marathons, wants to recognize Team Hoyt because they are an enduring Boston symbol of strength and perseverance.
