Comcast Announces New Products and Plans to Improve the Customer Experience
X1 Platform customers can now enjoy new services such as the Xfinity remote with voice control, Kids Zone and the Xfinity Share App

Earlier this week at the Internet & Television Expo (INTX) 2015, Comcast released a series of detailed announcements about current and future offerings. Here’s a summary of the latest products available for Xfinity customers:
· Xfinity Share App Lets Customers Share Video Experiences on TV: Xfinity customers on the X1 Entertainment Operating System can now live stream their favorite life moments over the Internet from their smartphone to the television to share with friends and family. Through the company’s Xfinity Share app, customers can live stream or send photos and recorded videos to their TV, or to the TV of another X1 customer, as well as live stream and share content to mobile phones. And, we put together a how-to guide to make it easy to share with your friends and family.
· Voice Remote now available: If you have the X1 Platform, it’s simple – just say it and see it. The Xfinity Remote with voice control recognizes thousands of common commands including things like:
Find out what's happening in Jamaica Plainfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
o Changing the channel: “Watch ESPN”
o Searching for movies or shows: “The Walking Dead”

o Browsing Xfinity On Demand: “Show me kids movies”
o Setting a recording: “Record Saturday Night Live”
o Finding sports teams, games and events: “When do the Red Sox play?”
o Getting recommendations or seeing what’s popular on TV right now: “What’s trending?”
o The remote even recognizes hundreds of popular movie quotes. As an example, saying “Life is like a box of chocolates” will find the movie Forrest Gump.
The voice remote is available to all eligible X1 customers. New customers will get the remote during their installation and existing customers can either go to an Xfinity Store (Danvers, MA; Newton, MA; Somerville, MA; Westford, MA and Nashua, NH) to pick one up for free or order online at xfinity.com/voiceremote (shipping & handling charges may apply).
· Kids Zone on X1: Parents and caregivers no longer need to worry about setting parental controls on their TV. When in Kids Zone, children can browse all on their own, selecting live programming, free Xfinity On Demand content as well as any saved programming on our DVR — all of which has either been designated by the network or studio as kids programming, or deemed age-appropriate for kids 12 and under by Common Sense Media.
While announcing these innovative services, Comcast also shared a comprehensive plan to transform the customer experience. For example, Comcast is building new technology so that we can be available for customers where and when they want. The Xfinity My Account app, which launched last year and has been downloaded more than one million times, puts customers in the driver’s seat giving them the tools to troubleshoot problems and fix issues. Customers with questions or issues can also use the app to schedule a convenient time for a Comcast representative to call them – with no waiting on hold. More information on our customer experience transformation plans can be found here.
This is just sampling of the innovative services that were announced and demonstrated at this week’s INTX show.
