While continuing to compile valuable experience, the softball still finds itself unable to clear the final hurdle for its first victory as the Blue and Blue lost to Brighton, 26-1, last Thursday afternoon.

“We’re a young team with most players having not played before, but we are getting more experience,” said English assistant coach Anne Minichino. “We are getting better.”

With the loss, the Blue and Blue fell to 0-3 on the season.
On the mound for English was junior Kiarry Ortega who Minichino said did “a great job” in her first pitching appearance. Scoring the lone run for the Blue and Blue was Jarolin Romero.

“They’re having fun and that’s what we want,” Minichino noted about the team.
She added, “What’s important to me is that they are building unity.”
