DIVINE STAGE WORKS PRESENTS THE PLAY READING OF “HEDDA GABLER” Directed by Tara Brook Watkins

Divine Stage Works presents a local collaboration, PlaYces II, consisting of three play readings set in some of Jamaica Plain’s most inspiring spaces: Taylor House Bed and Breakfast, The Loring-Greenough House and UFORGE Gallery. The first in the PlaYces II series, Henrik Ibsen’s “Hedda Gabler,” will take place September 7 and 8, 2012 at 8 p.m. at the Taylor House B&B, located at 50 Burroughs Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
“Hedda Gabler” tells the story of one woman’s struggle to come to terms with an unhappy marriage that threatens to seize hold of her future. As the play unfolds, Hedda indulges in manipulation as everyone around her gets pulled in to her web of wicked games.
The reading includes a complimentary wine reception. Tickets are $14 and can be purchased at divinestageworks.com or by calling 1-800-838-3006.

“We wanted to collaborate with the local organizations that are hosting our readings are because they are active in Jamaica Plain community,” said Peyton Pugmire, Artistic Director, Divine Stage Works. “That’s how we came up with the concept of PlaYces last year: to choose specific plays that thematically compliment each venue – the series provides a more intimate, personal and fun experience for the audience.”
