Owner Katerina Iliades, whose family has served the Boston Greek community for decades, says many of the foods enjoyed during Lent reflect long-standing Greek culinary traditions. “Lent is a forty-day season leading up to Easter when many families embrace traditional fasting foods rooted in the Mediterranean diet,” says Iliades. “The dishes enjoyed during this time — from beans and vegetables to seafood and olive oil — have been part of Greek culinary traditions for centuries.” During the Lenten season, many Christians avoid meat and dairy, turning instead to a vibrant variety of Mediterranean dishes that are naturally plant-based and deeply rooted in Greek culinary tradition. Feet of Clay Pottery is pleased to announce that the opening reception for the semi-annual show and sale will be held on Thursday, April 26 from 6-9pm.  Many of the 23 artists will be there to discuss their work, including an assortment of functional and decorative handmade pottery such as jewelry, mugs, sculptures, berry bowls, jars, and plates.  It's a great time to purchase gifts for Mother's Day or pick up something that catches your eye and also support the local arts community.   We will also be holding a raffle throughout both weekends of the show to raise money for the new Feet of Clay Artist-in-Residence program.  Prizes will value up to $300 and include unique pieces of pottery, a private lesson with one of our instructors, and a gift certificate to Sweet Basil in Needham.  Raffle tickets will cost $10 each or 3 for $20.   The spring show gallery will be open the following times: Thursday, April 26, 6-9pm; Friday, April 27, 10am-6pm; Saturdays, April 28 &amp; May 5, 10am-6pm; and Sundays, April 29 &amp; May 6, 11am-5pm.
