The Home for Little Wanderers hosts Recruitment Open House
There are thousands of children in foster care across Massachusetts who are in need of a safe and loving home. The Home for Little Wanderers hopes to inspire the community to step up and make a difference. On Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., The Home is hosting a Foster Care Recruitment Open House at its Knight Children’s Center Gymnasium, 161 South Huntington Avenue, Jamaica Plain, MA. Parking is provided onsite and the location is easily accessible by public transportation. Prospective foster parents will have an opportunity to network with The Home’s Foster Care Team, as well as current and former foster parents about their experience. During a brief speaking program and Q&A, attendees will explore why children are placed in foster care, the process of becoming a professional foster parent, support The Home provides and what providing a safe haven for children in foster care involves. Additionally, the event includes complimentary refreshments, games, entertainment, a prize drawing, and incentives. To register and learn more, contact Recruitment Coordinator Lina Fox at 617-264-5323 or lfox@thehome.org or visit www.thehome.org/fostercare. Together we can all help children and families thrive and succeed.
