The City of Boston is offering two days for residents and businesses to recycle various electronic materials. Oct 8 will be open to businesses, schools, non-profit organizations, colleges & universities, and hospitals (pre-registration required). Oct 9 will be open to the public (no appointment necessary).
Items that will be accepted: computers, monitors, televisions, LCD panels, printers, other computer related equipment, stereos, cell and other phones, power supplies, electronic games, VCRs, circuit boards, microwaves, and other household electronics. Hard drive and other memory devices are physically destroyed!
Items not accepted:air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and white goods (washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, etc. )

At the University of Massachusetts – Boston's parking lot area D, residents can drop-off up to 50 pounds of their household hazardous waste including products labeled toxic, flammable, reactive, corrosive or poisonous such as, paint, motor oil pesticides solvents, glues weed killer, pool chemicals, car batteries, tires and propane tanks.
