MBTA Fare Increase & Service Cuts Meeting

Transit Service is going to be cut including vital JP bus routes and trains.

If the MBTA’s Fare & Service Changes are not stopped, services including dozens of bus routes, some commuter rail, the RIDE and all ferry service will be eliminated.

How will these cuts impact JP residents?

The MBTA is proposing to eliminate weekend service of the Green Line E Train which many residents use to get to their job. They are also proposing to completely eliminate the #48 bus (aka the JP Loop). Many seniors and people with limited mobility use the 48 to get to medical appointments, family visits, and grocery shop.

The proposed (un) fare increases are put on the backs of people who can afford them the least including students and seniors. They face over a 100% increase under the two scenarios.

We need to let the MBTA know that these proposed cuts and fare increases are not acceptable. The MBTA, along with the state legislature, should work together to come up with more equitable ways to increase the MBTA’s revenue.

Join JP residents and merchants to speak out against the cuts & fare increases!
