"Small Business Connections": Marketing Meets Microfinancing Workshop

Yelp and Accion are teaming up with the NYSE Big Start-Up to host a free workshop in Boston (Jamaica Plain) that will provide small business owners across the U.S. with resources to help finance their entrepreneurial dreams and increase their online marketing power by learning best practices for engaging with online review sites and other social media platforms.

The Small Business Connections workshop will help entrepreneurs better understand:

  • Tips on increasing their online presence
  • Best practices for navigating the world of online reviews
  • How to take advantage of Yelp's free suite of tools for business owners
  • Business tips on how to access capital with micro lender Accion

Additionally, Accion client Jessie Banhazl of Green City Growers will share her experience and offer advice on how social media has grown her business. Green City Growers is a green company that builds, installs, and maintains year-round, organic-raised-bed-vegetable gardens for homeowners, businesses/corporations, schools and restaurants in the Northeast.
