over 100 Eliot School faculty members and students will exhibit work produced in or inspired by classes at the schoolhouse at 24 Eliot Street, and in the Eliot School’s Partnership Program in Boston Public Schools. Exhibited work will be from a range of disciplines, including woodworking, wood turning, furniture refinishing, quilting, knitting, sewing, upholstery, drawing and painting, mixed media, photography and more. Karen Haas, Curator of Photographs for the Lane Collection at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and an Eliot School student, will curate the show.
The Student-Faculty Show is an annual event, and for the first time this year there will be a “Show within a Show” that will spotlight five faculty members and their students. The Eliot School has chosen to feature faculty who work in a variety of mediums, some who teach at the schoolhouse and some who teach in the School Partnership Program. “Show within a Show” artists include: Cindy Arias (Illustration); Pablo Friedmann (Painting); Diane Ivey (Fiber Arts); Ellen Shattuck Pierce (Printmaking); and Susan Vannini (Woodworking).

The Student-Faculty Show is an opportunity for Eliot School artists of all ages and skill levels to share their work and gain inspiration and feedback from their community. It’s also an opportunity for prospective students to connect with the Eliot School community and see examples of things they might expect to make in class.
Some faculty work will be for sale, there will be live music and refreshments will be served. The event happens at the Eliot School, 24 Eliot Street in Jamaica Plain and is free and open to the public.
