Former Boston Police Superintendent Arraigned on Domestic Violence Charges
The suspect allegedly shouted at, hit and pushed his girlfriend against a wall.

A former Boston Police Department Superintendent was brought to court Thursday, Feb. 19 for allegedly hitting his girlfriend, according to Newton police.
Bruce Holloway, 58, of Boston, allegedly got into an argument with his girlfriend late Wednesday night. The fight escalated and Holloway reportedly shouted and swore at his girlfriend before pushing her against a wall and hitting her on the forehead.

The woman reported the incident to Newton police around 1 a.m. Thursday and asked for an emergency restraining order. The police granted her restraining order and arrested Holloway at his Boston home.
Police are still investigating the incident, which they say may have involved a child.

Holloway was placed on administrative leave from the Boston Police Department in 2012 for similar allegations from a former girlfriend, according to the Boston Globe. As superintendent in charge of the Bureau of Investigative Services, Holloway was the chief of 280 detectives.
Holloway will remain in custody until his next hearing, scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23.
