Jamaica Plain 'Boston Shines' Cleanup Projects

Grab your gardening gloves and a sturdy broom because it's time to clean up the neighborhood. (And if you don't have them, many cleanups provide tools!)

The Boston Shines annual citywide clean-up is this weekend, and there are several JP projects that could use your help. You can register to volunteer by contacting neighborhood coordinator Jullieanne Doherty at City Hall. You'll also see her at the various sites handing out doughnuts and T-shirts.

Of course, you don't have to register. Just come on out and help! And if you can't help, please move your car for the cleaning crew so they can sweep the street clean.

The cleanups generally start around 9 a.m. Saturday. The Egleston Square cleanup will have a decidedly youth flavor, as teens are asked to join that cleanup in particular.
