The Jamaica Plain Community Centers Adult Learning program seeks Adult Education Teachers. Join our collaborative, learner-centered, innovative, results-oriented team committed to empowering adult learners to attain their goals through academic achievement, career, and leadership development.

Teach High School Equivalency (HiSET, formerly GED) and/or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), to classes of adult learners to help them advance and achieve their goals. Teach reading, writing, math, and/or other subjects to native and non-native English speakers. HiSET: 8.5 hours per week includes 5 hrs. teaching and 3 hours prep time. ESOL: 15 hours per week includes 9 hours teaching and 6 hours lesson prep, curriculum development, meetings, and professional development.

Possibility of combining with other part-time positions. Competitive compensation includes paid sick days, holidays, personal days; extensive paid professional development, free membership to community center recreational facilities, accessible by T. Short and Long-term Substitute Teaching in those subjects also available.
