Jamaica Plain Crime Statistics: Is Crime on the Rise from 2015?
Boston Police released its data from the first three months of the year.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA - Boston Police have released their crime statistics for the first quarter of the year, and it's a mixed bag.
From Jan. 1 to March 20 of this year, violent crimes reported are either on pace with or have surpassed those from the same period in 2015.
Not to mention overall crime is up 2 percent.

However some neighborhoods have seen a drop in both overall and violent crime.
The bad news? Jamaica Plain is not one of those neighborhoods.

The good news? While crime has risen 15 percent in Jamaica Plain compared to the first three months of 2015, much of that can be attributed to nonviolent crimes.
