Jamaica Plain to Host Boston Pride Block Party This Weekend
The Sunday festivities include face painting and games for kids, live musical performances and a dog show featuring adoptable animals.

Jamaica Plain, MA – Boston Pride is holding a block party once again this year in Jamaica Plain as Pride Week comes to a close.
The festivities will run from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday up and down Perkins Street between South Huntington Avenue and Centre Street.
Boston Pride teamed up with Kristen Porter Presents for the event, which is usually attended by 1,500 LGBT community members and advocates and includes food vendors, a cash bar, activities for kids, live music and a rescue dog show.

The block party will begin at 2 p.m. with face painting and games for kids, featuring a live performance by Zili Misik, an all-female acoustic and electronic group specializing in African-inspired music genres.
The 4th Annual Divas, Dogs & Drag Show will be held from 3-4 p.m., highlighting some of Boston’s most notable drag queens and kings as well as the newly crowned Mr. and Mrs. Boston Pride. Rescue dogs available for adoption will also be showcased.

DJ LeahV will take over the party from 4-8 p.m., turning the street into a dance floor with her genre-blending mixes that earned her the title of "Boston's Best DJ" from Improper Bostonian. Her set will feature a guest appearance at 6:30 by Adrienne Mack-Davis with feleciacruz.
Boston Pride is accepting $10 donations before 5 p.m. and $15 during the evening.
