Jamaica Plain Man Arrested on Gun, Pot Charges
Police believe they interrupted an alleged drug deal between Andre Raper and a man in the hallway of the Bromley Heath Housing Development.

Jamaica Plain, MA – A 23-year-old Jamaica Plain man was arrested on marijuana possession and weapons charges Saturday after police interrupted an alleged drug deal.
Officers were on patrol inside the Bromley Heath Housing Development Saturday night after several residents reported gang and drug related activities in the area. They approached a group hanging out in the common area of one of the buildings and began speaking to them, police said.
During the conversation, Andre Raper walked out of his apartment with a small bag of marijuana in his hand and quickly put it in his pocket after noticing the officers, according to police.

Police believed Raper intended to sell the marijuana to one of the men in the group before they interrupted the deal. According to police, they found a one ounce bag of marijuana and several small bags packaged for sale after patting Raper down.
Raper was taken into custody and told officers that there were more drugs inside the apartment and a gun hidden inside a Louis Vuitton bag.

During a search of the apartment, police said five additional ounces of marijuana, Colt Double Action revolver and loose rounds of ammunition were recovered.
Raper was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession with intent to distribute Class D drugs.
