JP Resident Simon Griffiths Joins Citizens Bank as Executive Vice President & Head of Distribution for Consumer Banking

Citizens Bank today announced that Simon Griffiths has been named Executive Vice President and Head of Retail Distribution. Griffiths, a financial services veteran with nearly 20 years of leadership experience, joins Citizens from Santander and previously worked in senior leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase and Washington Mutual.

Griffiths will be responsible for managing Citizens’ network of branches and ATMs, online and mobile banking, digital sales and marketing and related Consumer Banking operations effective Oct. 13, 2015. He will report to Brad Conner, Vice Chairman and Head of Consumer Banking.

Before managing Santander’s retail branch network, Griffiths served in a variety of senior leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase, including national head of branch administration and market manager for all retail branches in its Silicon Valley and Seattle markets. At Washington Mutual, he led pricing and product strategy for home equity and also led process improvement for the banking products and operations group. He also previously worked as a group manager and senior consultant for Accenture, where he advised companies in financial services and other industries.
