JP Suspect's Batman Bag Has Pot
A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly carrying a loaded gun and conducting a drug deal.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA – Bruce Wayne would be terribly disappointed.
Police on Thursday arrested a 21-year-old Jamaica Plain man with a loaded gun and a Batman backpack. And in the backpack police allegedly found a couple of bags of marijuana. (Subscribe to Jamaica Plain Patch for more local news and updates)
The suspect, Derek Khalil Gaines-Green, was spotted by police near Washington Street and MLK Boulevard when he drove a vehicle into the area and parked without getting out. Authorities were there to conduct a separate investigation at Old Road and Glenway Street, but ascertained Khalil Gaines-Green may be in possession of a firearm.

Police set up surveillance and observed what appeared to be a drug deal. Officers stopped the vehicle and saw the Batman backpack in Khalil Gaines-Green's lap. Several bags of marijuana were inside, police say.
Khalil Gaines-Green told police he had a firearm when he exited the vehicle. Police removed a loaded Ruger 9mm from his waistband. They also recovered from the vehicle additional ammunition, cell phones, scales, packaging, and paraphernalia consistent with the sale of illicit drugs.

Khalil Gaines-Green was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number.
The only weapon Batman packs is shark repellant spray.
