Woman Hit By Car In JP Crosswalk: State Police

Early reports indicate a pedestrian was hit by a car near Franklin Park this morning in JP.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA — About 7 a.m. a Malden woman was hit by a car while she was walking in a crosswalk in JP, the Massachusetts State Police told Patch.

The 59-year old woman was in the crosswalk on Morton Street near Franklin Park Cemetery when she was struck by a car, according to police. She was then taken to Brigham and Women's to be treated for what police described as serious injuries.

The driver of the car that hit the woman stayed on scene and was cooperating, according to State Police who added that the investigation was ongoing and no charges had yet been filed.
