PRIMARK CELEBRATES #GIVINGTUESDAY

Fashion Retailer Announces Special Offering for the Global Day of Giving, on Dec. 1, to Benefit St. Mary's Center for Women and Children

WHAT: In honor of #GivingTuesday, the annual day of giving occurring worldwide on December 1, Primark’s Downtown Crossing flagship will feature a special offering for shoppers looking to give back to the community on this day dedicated to service and charity. Primark will donate $1 from every non-licensed folded nightwear purchase − which includes Pyjamas sets and robes for men, women and children − directly to St. Mary’s Center.

“We are thrilled to expand our support of St. Mary’s Center with #GivingTuesday, and to continue building this important relationship,” said Jose Luis Martinez de Larramendi, President of Primark U.S. Corp. “In addition to raising added funds for St. Mary’s Center, this day of giving provides a platform to inform shoppers of St Mary’s Center’s work in improving the lives of those in need throughout the Boston area.”

This special one-day promotion is part of a long-term partnership Primark has developed with St. Mary’s Center as the retailer is continually committed to directly contributing to the local communities in which it works.

In addition to the #GivingTuesday initiative, Primark is dedicating a total of $50,000 in financial and in-kind contributions to St. Mary’s Center in the first year of partnership. Additionally, Primark will supply direct employment opportunities for residents of St. Mary’s Center at the Downtown Crossing location.

“We at St. Mary’s Center are delighted and honored to have such a committed and engaged partner as Primark,” said Deirdre Houtmeyers, president of St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children. “This #GivingTuesday opportunity provides critical funding of our residential, educational, and employment programs for women and children in our community.”
