Facing a superior team, the girls soccer team fell 8-0 to Randolph Friday afternoon.
“The girls (Randolph) were more skilled and more practiced,” said Blue and Blue coach Anne Marie De Barros. “But it was a good learning experience for the players.”
The coach said some of the Blue and Blue players gave up during the contest, but after she talked to them, their morale picked up, and they played hard for the remainder of the game.
With the loss, English drops to 1-3 on the season. The Blue and Blue notched their first victory when they beat Dorchester/Tech Boston, 1-0, last Wednesday. Althia Letang, who had never played or practiced soccer before that day, netted the lone goal.
“She will be a great soccer player,” said De Barros. “It was incredible. I was amazed.”
The Blue and Blue will return to action Wednesday as they travel to take on Charlestown for a 4 p.m. contest.
