Rita B. McGaffigan formerly of JP Dies at Age 96
JP High School graduate and mother of seven was born and raised in Boston.
Rita Beatrice (Cronin) McGaffigan died peacefully at her home on Feb. 11, 2011. Mrs. McGaffigan was the devoted wife of the late James A. McGaffigan. She was 96.
Mrs. McGaffigan was born in Boston in 1914, but spent many years in Needham and Plymouth. She was daughter of the late Jeremiah and Alice (Wallace) Cronin.
Mrs. McGaffigan graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and Burdette College. She worked for the Fisher Music Company and Wellesley College Library.

Mrs. McGaffigan was the loving mother of James McGaffigan, of Litchfield, NH; Neil McGaffigan of Fairbanks, Alaska; Janet Mason of Concord; Helen Filla of Plymouth; William McGaffigan of Davenport, Iowa; Regina McGaffigan of Denver, CO; and John McGaffigan of Dedham. She was the beloved sister of the late James Cronin and the late Helen Donovan. McGaffigan cherished her role as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plymouth on Tuesday, February 15.

Visitation to be held from 4pm-7pm on Monday, February 14, at the Cartmell Funeral Home.
Interment was at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
