Santander Bank Presents Urban Edge With $35,000 check for its Homeownership and Financial Education Programs
Urban Edge receives $35,000 check from Santander Bank

Gwen Robinson, Santander Bank’s Managing Director of Corporate Responsibility, met with representatives from Urban Edge today to formally present them with the $35,000 check from the bank’s charitable grant program. The funds are supporting Urban Edge’s Homeownership and Financial Education program which offers First-Time Homebuyer education, Foreclosure Prevention Counseling and Student Loan Counseling. Robinson also received an update on the programs from Urban Edge staff.
Since 1995, Urban Edge has educated and helped almost 3,000 families purchase homes. The funding from Santander Bank will be used to continue Urban Edge’s work in creating new homeowners, helping reduce student debt, a barrier to homeownership and counsel clients on how to avoid foreclosure. Santander will also send bank representatives to help teach Urban Edge’s First-Time Homebuyer Classes, which will be held in three languages: English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.
