Silent Auction Raises $10,000 for Jamaica Plain's Curley School
The annual fundraiser was especially important given budget cuts at the Boston Public Schools.
Friend, families, and supporters of JP’s turned out in full force to raise $10,000 at the school’s Fourth Annual Silent Auction fundraiser on Tuesday.
generously hosted the event, providing delicious appetizers and a warm, convivial atmosphere. The bidding was competitive (perhaps even frenzied) on a range of fantastic silent auction items – including Red Sox/Yankees tickets, artwork, a week at a Newport vacation house, overflowing gourmet gift baskets, and gift certificates for everything from local classes to restaurants to personal training sessions. The proceeds, which will go to support music, art, and science at the Curley K-8, are more critical than ever in this time of growing cuts in the Boston Public Schools' budget.
The Curley Parents’ Council offers its sincerest thanks to the many friends and members of the Curley community who helped make this evening such a success – and special thanks to Canary Square for being such a terrific community partner.
