Owner Katerina Iliades, whose family has served the Boston Greek community for decades, says many of the foods enjoyed during Lent reflect long-standing Greek culinary traditions. “Lent is a forty-day season leading up to Easter when many families embrace traditional fasting foods rooted in the Mediterranean diet,” says Iliades. “The dishes enjoyed during this time — from beans and vegetables to seafood and olive oil — have been part of Greek culinary traditions for centuries.” During the Lenten season, many Christians avoid meat and dairy, turning instead to a vibrant variety of Mediterranean dishes that are naturally plant-based and deeply rooted in Greek culinary tradition. According to a recent press release, from the start of this snow season to Tuesday, Feb. 17 Boston Public Works Department has plowed 283,254 miles of roadway, put down over 74,000 tons of salt, and plowed for 168,231 hours.

Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced that Boston’s snow emergency parking ban will lift at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18. According to a recent press release, from the start of this snow season to Tuesday, Feb. 17 Boston Public Works Department has plowed 283,254 miles of roadway, put down over 74,000 tons of salt, and plowed for 168,231 hours.
