Police Release Description of Toddler Found Dead on Deer Island Beach

Toddler's remains were discovered on Thursday by a woman walking her dog.

Massachusetts State Police officials were spotted searching the water off the coast of Deer Island Friday were the remains of a toddler were discovered on a beach Thursday, The Boston Globe reports.

The body of a female child was uncovered along the beach in the vicinity of Winthrop by a woman who was walking her dog in the area.

A dive team continued the search for evidence Friday as very little is known in regards to how the toddler died. Investigators have yet to determine an identity, telling The Globe further tests must be conducted in order to do so.

Investigators did say they believe the toddler was about 4 years in age, 3 1/2 feet tall and roughly 30 pounds. She had brown eyes and brown hair estimated to be 14 inches in length.

Police are asking those with any information regarding their investigation to come forward.
