Teen Shot in Back of Head at Party
Johnnie Bonnie, 22, allegedly killed a 17-year-old at a party in June.

A 22-year-old Jamaica Plain man was held on no bail Wednesday at Suffolk Superior Court on murder and gun charges for allegedly shooting a 17-year-old at a South End party this summer.
The Boston Herald reported that Johnnie Bonnie was handcuffed wearing a hooded sweatshirt when he pleaded not guilty four times to charges he fatally shot teen Evens Archer on June 29 in the back of the head while Archer’s back was turned.
Bonnie was indicted by a grand jury for the murder Nov.14.

The Boston Globe reported that Suffolk Assistant District Attorney Nicholas Walsh said witnesses placed Bonnie at the party, and surveillance video caught him running away from the party about 2 a.m. that morning. Police also recovered the murder weapon, Walsh said.
“Archer was not even looking at him,” said, during 22-year-old Bonnie’s arraignment on a first-degree murder charge in Suffolk Superior Court Wednesday. “Archer staggered for a few moments and then fell to the ground. Mr. Bonnie ran.”

Archer was a senior at East Boston High School and his room was full of college banners. He told his family he would like to go to Morehouse College in Atlanta.
Prosecutors did not provide a motive for the shooting.
