Owner Katerina Iliades, whose family has served the Boston Greek community for decades, says many of the foods enjoyed during Lent reflect long-standing Greek culinary traditions. “Lent is a forty-day season leading up to Easter when many families embrace traditional fasting foods rooted in the Mediterranean diet,” says Iliades. “The dishes enjoyed during this time — from beans and vegetables to seafood and olive oil — have been part of Greek culinary traditions for centuries.” During the Lenten season, many Christians avoid meat and dairy, turning instead to a vibrant variety of Mediterranean dishes that are naturally plant-based and deeply rooted in Greek culinary tradition. Two juveniles were arraigned Monday and ordered held without bail for their connection to the shooting death of a 16-year-old Dorchester Boy, the Boston Globe reports.Dushawn Taylor, 16, and Raeshawn Moody, 14, were ordered held without bail by a judge at Dorchester Municipal Court. The two teens were arraigned as adults.Surveillance video captured the two cornering Jonathan Dos Santos and then firing at him.Despite being arraigned as adults, Taylor and Moody will remain in the custody of the Department of Youth Services.Dos Santos was shot to death this past Wednesday in Dorchester.
