UPDATED: Wreck that snarled Egleston Square traffic was caught on tape

A tractor-trailer and car collided and both hit an unoccupied SUV

A tractor-trailer and Honda Accord collided on Washington Street, with both vehicles plowing into a parked SUV. No one appeared to be seriously injured, but the wreck snarled traffic on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters and  police helped the driver of the Accord get out of his vehicle, which was stuck between the truck and an unoccupied SUV after the wreck.

The wreck took place around 1:30 pm. We'll post more details after the police investigation is completed.

UPDATE (posted 6 pm Thursday):

According to the police report, the driver of the Accord and the driver of the tractor trailer blame each other for the wreck. The Accord driver said the he checked that the tractor trailer was stopped before he pulled out of his parking spot. The driver of the truck said the light was green and he started pulling forward, never seeing the Accord.

A security tape at the T-Mobile Store where the wreck took place may solve the question of whose fault it really was.

The Accord driver, who complained of neck and back pain, was taken to Boston Medical Center.
