A Massachusetts restaurant operator who stocked his kitchen with food bought on fraudulent food stamp cards gets two years and $1.1 million in restitution (newsbreak.com) β A Fitchburg man has been sentenced for using fraudulently obtained SNAP benefits to buy bulk food for El Primo Restaurant in Leominster, with $1.1 million ordered in restitution and forfeiture. The case highlights how stolen identities became food stamp and pandemic unemployment accounts across several states, and explains what residents should watch for in suspicious benefit notices.

4. Three Charged with Drug Distribution (justice.gov) β Federal authorities have charged two Leominster residents and a Worcester man with conspiring to distribute fentanyl, after alleged sales beginning in July and searches at a Leominster apartment and Worcester residence. Investigators say they seized fentanyl and cocaine in Leominster, plus additional drugs and packaging materials in Worcester. Multiple local police departments, including Leominster's, assisted in the Worcester County investigation.

Local roundup: Falcons rally for big win on the road (sentinelandenterprise.com) β Leominster High's golf team shot 172 to beat Marlboro 192 at Marlboro Country Club, led by Rocco Spinelli's 41 and improving the Blue Devils to 7-6.
