About Lexington Field and Garden Club
Lexington and Garden Club is the oldest garden club in the nation. The club was organized in May 17, 1876 and incorporated in 1891. LFGC is a not-for-profit organization supported by memberships, contributions, an endowment income, and many volunteers.
LFGC offers many education, social, and community improvement opportunities to its members. Our members can learn about a wide range of gardening-related topics through lectures, workshops, and field trips. Many of the garden club members also participate in maintaining the historic gardens and traffic islands around town. We are particularly proud of our mentor/mentee program which helps new members become involved.
