ADL New England will host annual Essex County Law and Education Day Breakfast. Event will focus on Hate Speech in the Age of Social Media.

ADL New England’s Annual Essex County Law and Education Day brings together legal, education, law enforcement and interfaith leaders to explore issues related to hate and bullying in our schools and this year will specifically target cyber hate in the age of social media. While the Internet’s capacity to improve the world is boundless, it is also used by some to transmit anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim bigotry, racism, homophobia, misogyny, xenophobia and other forms of hate, prejudice and bigotry. Today, when social media is as much a part of daily life as face-to-face interactions, especially among youth, effective ways to confront online hatred, and to educate about its dangers, are particularly important
