Maybe you haven't yet committed to a Kindle yet or maybe it's just time to stock up on heaps of inexpensive books for your summer reading. You'll have your chance to get some real bargains this Saturday the 19th at the Friends of the Lynnfield Library's spring booksale during Townscape's Geraniumfest.
To get more info on the type of books on sale, I spoke with one friend of the library who's been working on sorting and collecting the books that will be available Saturday morning at 9am.

“We have children's books and adult hardcovers and paperbacks, ranging in price from $.50 to $2.00,” said Alexis Gilbode. “We've been collecting books since January, and I've been picking up books from donors and other booksale closeouts. Our books are usually in good condition and no more than 5 years old, with a few notable exceptions.”

Dan Brown, Steven King, romance authors and a collection of classics will be available, as will an assortment of DVDs. “We've got a large assortment of cookbooks, history and biography books,” she said. “They're pretty popular.”
The library will hold the sale rain or shine. With sun, the books will be on the common. If it rains, we'll set up in the library. Unused books will be donated to a variety of organizations. The sale will run from 9am to 1pm, although Geraniumfest will continue until 3pm.
As for Alexis, she prefers mysteries for casual reading.
“Someone donated a 1940s Perry Mason paperback that cost $.50 at the time of publication,” she said. “So, of course, I'm reading that now.”
