Bridgewell Honors Pat McGrath and Dr. Julie Moran at 2015 Gala
Andover and Lynn Residents Receive Awards; Gala Raises almost $400,000 to Help People with Disabilities and Other Life Challenges

– Bridgewell, a Lynnfield based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and helping individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities and other life challenges, recently honored Lynn resident Pat McGrath and Andover resident Dr. Julie Moran at their 2015 Imagine the Possibilities gala held Nov. 6, 2015.
More than 355 people attended this year’s gala, helping to raise just under $400,000 for Bridgewell and its mission, a $59,000 increase over last’s year effort.
“We are so excited to have honored Pat and Julie at this year’s gala,” said Bob Stearns, Bridgewell CEO. “We are gratified by the ability to put on a gala that will help grow our donor base, and enable us to meet the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, addiction and other life challenges including those who are homeless.”

Pat McGrath, owner of McGrath Enterprises of Lynn, received the Visionary Leadership award. He has partnered with Bridgewell for over 10 years to build customized residences and enhance commercial sites, while supporting the people Bridgewell cares for through his philanthropy.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by an organization with such an important mission,” said McGrath. “Since partnering with Bridgewell over 10 years ago on a range of projects, I have seen firsthand the impact this organization has on so many people’s lives. I am thrilled to be part of that effort.”

Dr. Julie Moran received the Excellence in Service award. Dr. Moran is a geriatrician who specializes in older adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She runs two outpatient specialty clinics for older adults with these disabilities that are served by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental services, and is a consultant for patients admitted to Tewksbury Hospital. Dr. Moran has served many Bridgewell clients, and is a Clinical instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
“Adults with intellectual disabilities are living longer than ever before. It has been my privilege to have a career devoted to this wonderful population and to work closely with Bridgewell to help their clients with concerns that arise as they grow older,” said Dr. Moran. “I am honored to receive this award and I look forward to continuing to partner with Bridgewell to serve their clients in the future.”
The Imagine the Possibilities gala was sponsored by McGrath Enterprises, Maintenance Solutions, Caruso & McGovern, Citizens Bank and VoDaVi Solutions. Bridgewell is dedicated to supporting and helping individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities to direct their own lives, achieve personal and professional success and remain active participants in society.
