PAWS (Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society, Inc.)

PAWS is putting out a call to the public: Help Us Clear Some Space! PAWS (Protection of&nbsp;Animals in Wakefield Society) is your local animal welfare organization, and they are having&nbsp;a Free Giveaway this Saturday and Sunday in their Lowell Street office. You are invited to&nbsp;come to this “indoor yard sale” and take home anything you can use for your pet. That will&nbsp;help clear some space so that PAWS can better serve the felines and families in our&nbsp;community.
People have been very generous with their donations of pet care items, mostly for cats and&nbsp;dogs, but so much has been donated that the PAWS office is overflowing. There are many&nbsp;types of food and water dishes, pet toys, beds, household items, home décor and more!&nbsp;Most items are free, but a few larger items—such as pet carriers, beds, and cat towers—will&nbsp;have a small donation request.
The event will take place inside the office at 411 Lowell Street, Wakefield, on Saturday &amp;&nbsp;Sunday, August 1 &amp; 2 from Noon until – 2:00 PM both days. There are a couple important&nbsp;things to note: it is first-come, first-served (no early birds please!), no holds or reservations&nbsp;will be accepted, and you are encouraged to bring a reusable bag in which to take away your freebies. This giveaway excludes pet food – the Pet Food Pantry is open on Tuesdays&nbsp;from 1-5 pm. 
Do not bring items to donate with you – this is a takeaway event only!

North Reading School of Ballet

North Reading School of Ballet's Summer Dance Intensive is an exciting week-long program designed to help dancers strengthen their technique, expand their artistry, and stay inspired between seasons. Open to all dancers ages 6 to 18 with previous dance experience (current NRSB enrollment is not required) the intensive welcomes students from across the Greater Boston area. Each day begins with focused ballet training and is complemented by a variety of additional dance styles, specialty workshops, and renowned, award-winning guest faculty—providing a well-rounded and enriching experience.&nbsp;

With an emphasis on quality instruction, small class sizes, and individualized attention, dancers build confidence, refine their technique, and develop the discipline and artistry that will serve them throughout the coming year. Whether preparing for fall classes, performances, or simply looking to make the most of the summer, dancers will leave feeling motivated, accomplished, and inspired.

Led by NRSB Director Amanda Bertone, whose teaching career spans more than two decades, this year's Summer Dance Intensive features an outstanding guest faculty of professional educators, including Levi Marsman, Pat "Planet" Opran, Hannah Cyr, Francesca Lage, and Rachel Bertone.

Dancers ages 10 to 18 attend from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, while dancers ages 6 to 9 attend from 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM. Classes include Ballet Technique, Pointe &amp; Pre-Pointe, Stretch &amp; Strengthen, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Contemporary/Lyrical.

A Healthy Lynnfield, an active community partnership working hard to prevent substance misuse and to ensure those impacted have the help they need, and the Lynnfield Police Department are once again partnering to celebrate National Night Out. This community-building campaign promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work. 
A Healthy Lynnfield and the Lynnfield Police Department invite you to join them on August 4th at Lynnfield Middle School for the town’s fourth annual National Night Out. The event, which runs from 6:00 – 8:00pm, will feature a softball game between the Lynnfield Police Department and the Lynnfield Youth Softball coaches.
Attendees will enjoy a free cookout sponsored by the Lynnfield Police Department, Bianco Sausages, and Kayem, Cool Cow Ice Cream sponsored by Hixon &amp; Bevilacqua Home Group, and a hydration station provided by Lynnfield Center Water District.
There will be a K9 display courtesy of the Essex County Sheriff's Department and a karate demonstration and self-defense course by Cervizzi's. Kids will able be able to enjoy a scavenger hunt, face painting, henna, DJ, and other activities courtesy of Ellen Crawford, Realtor.
“National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement,” said Diana DeLeo Program Director, A Healthy Lynnfield.“ When the community and law enforcement work closely together, it benefits everyone in our town.”

At just 18, Bella Rayne is a self-taught guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter whose sound is quickly turning heads across the country. Born in the mountains of North Carolina and raised along the rugged coast of Mendocino, California, she blends rock and Americana with the improvisational spirit of the jam-band tradition—creating a sound that feels both timeless and strikingly new, bridging generations of listeners. Her journey began during the pandemic, when she pulled an old Stratocaster from her garage, fixed it up, and taught herself to play by ear—unlocking a voice and style entirely her own. She has since formed Bella Rayne Band, a high-energy, guitar-driven ensemble that has quickly become one of the most talked-about rising acts on the live circuit. Led by a young lineup of seasoned musicians, the band has surged from small rooms to coast-to-coast stages and festival lineups in a remarkably short time, with crowds growing at every stop. Their sets are explosive and ever- evolving—blending soulful Southern rock, modern Americana, and improvisational jam with bold reinterpretations of Grateful Dead classics alongside Bella’s own originals. The result is a sound that feels both timeless and unmistakably new, often described as the next generation of Tedeschi Trucks Band with an alternative edge and a 70s vibe. Despite her young age, Bella has already shared the stage with seasoned artists and respected bands: appearances alongside Allman Betts Family Revival, Melvin Seals &amp; JGB, ALO, Jackie Greene, Oteil Burbridge, and members of Terrapin Family have all added to her early résumé and she was touted as “one to watch” by her idol, Susan Tedeschi in a 2025 Guitar World Magazine interview. In addition, she has been invited to iconic stages nationwide including The Fillmore SF, The Orpheum LA, Sweetwater Music Hall, The Hamilton, and even celebrated her 18th birthday with a set on the Prudential stage at Bottlerock Napa festival. One of the most iconic moments of her rising career: she was entrusted to play the legendary guitar known as “Alligator” — once wielded by Jerry Garcia. That honor, courtesy of Grateful Guitars Foundation, has become a defining chapter in Bella’s journey and Guitar Player magazine recently recognized her as one of the players “keeping the Dead alive” alongside Jeff Mason (Dark Star Orchestra) and Tom Hamilton (JRAD) in an article from May 2025.
