Free PAWS Giveaway!

PAWS is putting out a call to the public: Help Us Clear Some Space! PAWS (Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society) is your local animal welfare organization, and they are having a Free Giveaway this Saturday and Sunday in their Lowell Street office. You are invited to come to this “indoor yard sale” and take home anything you can use for your pet. That will help clear some space so that PAWS can better serve the felines and families in our community.

People have been very generous with their donations of pet care items, mostly for cats and dogs, but so much has been donated that the PAWS office is overflowing. There are many types of food and water dishes, pet toys, beds, household items, home décor and more! Most items are free, but a few larger items—such as pet carriers, beds, and cat towers—will have a small donation request.

The event will take place inside the office at 411 Lowell Street, Wakefield, on Saturday & Sunday, August 1 & 2 from Noon until – 2:00 PM both days. There are a couple important things to note: it is first-come, first-served (no early birds please!), no holds or reservations will be accepted, and you are encouraged to bring a reusable bag in which to take away your freebies. This giveaway excludes pet food – the Pet Food Pantry is open on Tuesdays from 1-5 pm.

Do not bring items to donate with you – this is a takeaway event only!
